Puglia continues its journey towards the flagship event of the 2023 season, the European Men's Volleyball Championship, scheduled to take place in Bari from 9 to 12 September where the round of 16 and quarter-finals will be played.
Friday, June 16th in Castellana Grotte There will be a day of in-depth study on the world of volleyball with two key moments: at 18.00 pm, in the “Franco Anelli” Museum, will be held a Workshop entitled "A Comparison of the Socio-Economic Impact of Major Sporting Events", which will feature prominent figures from the fields of sport, politics, academia, and education. Among them will be Roberto Ghiretti, professor of the Master's Sport program at Uniparma and the CONI School of Sport.
Following, At 20.30pm, in the Caverna della Grave, “Volley Talk” will take place, the show created by journalist Massimo Salmaso to retrace the history of volleyball over the last few decades. He will do so alongside guests such as Franco Bertoli, the "stone hand of volleyball," and Fabio Vullo, a member of Italy's so-called "generation of phenomena," both former players of the Italian national team, among the most successful of all time, and Annamaria Quaranta, also a former Italian national team player and former player for Florens Castellana Grotte in the A2 and A1 series between 2007 and 2009. From 18 to 20 p.m., the 2023 Men's European Cup will be on display in the Museum, though photographs will be permitted only after the workshop.
The event was made possible thanks to the collaboration with Grotte di Castellana srl and the Municipality of Castellana Grotte.
