Tomorrow, in the Castellana Caves, the second concert of "Christmas in the Caves" will take place, part of the "Winter Squares" program.
It will take place tomorrow Saturday, December 16, at 21:00 PM, in the Grave of the Castellana Caves, the second event of Christmas in the Caves, within the program of events promoted from December to January by Municipality of Castellana Grotte and Grotte di Castellana Srl.
The concert fits perfectly into the Christmas spirit, given the event's charitable purpose. The show will be on stage: "Rocking with San Rocco. Christmas Concert" which will feature the Italian-American bluesman and philanthropist Patrick Girondi & the Orphan's Dream. Girondi will donate his entire salary to the Thalassemia Families Committee (https://comitatofamiglietalassemici.it).
A singer-songwriter and entertainer with a difficult past, constantly traveling between Altamura and his hometown of Chicago, Patrick Girondi is the founder of Orphandream, a foundation that supports scientific research into rare diseases. Thanks to his popularity, Girondi has raised over $50 million in the United States through albums and concerts for medical research into sickle cell anemia, thalassemia, and other rare diseases.
He has received numerous awards and recognitions in Italy and abroad. In "Focaccia Blues," the film by the late Nico Cirasola—confirming Girondi's connection to Altamura—he sang "Flim flam man" and "It's your time," a song that later became a music video directed by Luigi Porzia and awarded at the Giffoni Film Festival.
Artists such as Franco Battiato, Claudio Baglioni, Tosca, Eugenio Finardi, Nada and Fausto Mesolella, Giuliano Sangiorgi, Chiara Civello, and Vinicio Capossela have already performed in the Caves.
