The musical events continue with “CHRISTMAS IN THE CAVES,” one of the most evocative Christmas-related events ever organized, taking place from December 1, 2015, to January 12, 2016, in the incredible setting of the Castellana Caves.
On Friday, January 8th, Maestro STEFANO BOLLANI will bring “ARRIVANO GLI ALIENI” (ARRIVE THE ALIENS) to the heart of the earth, an unpredictable show in which the artist also tries his hand at singing and writing lyrics for the first time.
Three other leading names in Italian music performed in LA GRAVE, the first of the caverns encountered as you delve into the complex of underground cavities. Its acoustics make it an ideal location for live performances, allowing for truly unique musical performances. Eugenio Finardi, Claudio Baglioni, and Simone Cristicchi are among those who performed.
"For 'Christmas in the Caves'," says Eugenio Finardi, the event's artistic director, "I have assembled an exceptional cast, with the aim of involving artists united by the ability to lead the audience on an existential exploration, ready to perform in a place that itself demands to be discovered and explored. Stefano Bollani, with his boundless jazz piano knowledge and the versatility of his recent evolution, engages and stirs usually dormant chords." The four artists' concerts were just four of a packed calendar of artistic and religious events, under the artistic direction of Eugenio Finardi himself, and with the artistic direction of PINO SAVINO (artistic director of Grotte di Castellana Srl), which will take place in the Castellana Caves for over a month.
