They were 29491 visitors of the Castellana Caves (Ba) in this “unusual” spring break Italian (between Saturday, April 20th and Wednesday, May 1st). The Spring Break between Easter Eve and May Day, which also ushered in the high season in the karst complex, one of Puglia's main attractions and among the most visited paid tourist sites in Italy, saw its highest peaks on Easter Monday (Monday, April 22nd, 4152 visitors), Liberation Day (Thursday, April 25th, 3668 visitors), and the two days following these dates (Tuesday, April 23rd, 3150 visitors, and Friday, April 26th, 3043 visitors). This remarkable influx concluded on Labor Day (Wednesday, May 1st, 2427 visitors).

In total, 42238 visitors visited the Castellana Caves in April 2019, an increase of 1,4% compared to the same month in 2018, bringing the balance for the first four months of the year (January-April 2019 compared to January-April 2018) to +1%.

For this reason, we would like to once again thank all the employees of Grotte di Castellana srl, who met the expectations of the many tourists, both Italian and international, and who ensured that the entire Castellana Caves tourist area was presented in the best possible way, in terms of cleanliness and organization. We are thus preparing for a month of May that we hope will be equally important, and for a summer that will be packed with important new events and initiatives alongside the traditional tourist visits..

HELL IN THE CAVE AT THE CASTELLANA CAVES. TWO PERFORMANCES IN MAY: THE 10TH AND THE 31ST.

Double performance also in May for Hell in the Cave – verses dancing in the dark air, the largest underground air show in the world, a multimedia representation of Dante Alighieri's Inferno, the only permanent show in Puglia.

Inspired by Dante's circles of the Divine Comedy, Hell in the Cave is hell seen from the center of the earth, 70 meters underground, among karst concretions shaped by nature over 90 million years. An evocative setting serves as both the backdrop and the protagonist of the show, featuring damned souls and demons, but also celestial, pure-white figures led by the enchanting Beatrice. The cast of dancers and actors makes the Hell in the Cave experience unique, with its record-breaking numbers consistently breaking.

Two shows are scheduled: Friday May 10 and Friday, May 31st. Tickets for Hell in the Cave are on sale online at ticketone.it. For information and reservations, call 3391176722. A combination of the Castellana Caves (full tour of the White Grotto) and Hell in the Cave is available for a total of €28 (instead of €36). The show starts at 9:00 PM.

The reservation service is reserved only for groups of more than 20 people.

Individuals simply need to show up at the ticket office at least 30 minutes before their chosen tour.

For the period between March and November only, it is possible to pre-purchase tickets through the TicketOne circuit up to 24 hours before the chosen visit.
