A rich calendar of events to explore the Castellana Caves with special visits Speleonight e Speleofamily has been defined for the months from June to October 2022, when the exclusive activities by the speleologists of the Puglia Caves Group They will be added to the traditional guided tours of the karst site, one of Puglia's main tourist attractions.
Visit Speleonight, sensory experience underground that shows a different face of the karst site, will be available:
- June 10th and 24th at 20:30 pm,
- July 1st, 15th and 29th at 20:30 pm,
- August 5, 9, 12, 16, 19, 21, 23, 26, 28 and 30 at 20:30 pm,
- September 2, 4, 9, 16, 23 and 30 at 20:30 pm.
The outward journey takes place in the dark, with only the lights on the helmets, in an intense silence where the patter of the water drops is amplified and the concretions are revealed in unique detail. Two highlights: the desert corridor traveled alone, a unique experience in the underground world, and the switching on of the lights in the White Cave, marking the illuminated return journey.
The appointment with Speleofamily, a multi-sensory tour for families and not only, which allows you to visit hidden sides of the caves and relive the excitement of the first explorers, discovering history and geology, is planned for:
- June 19th at 18:00 PM,
- July 3rd and 17th at 18:00 pm,
- September 11th and 25th at 18:00 pm,
- October 2, 16, and 30 at 17:00 PM.
Designed for children ages 4 and up, the Speleofamily tour offers an alternative route to the traditional tourist route. Led by professional speleologists, you'll explore using only the light of your helmet for a thrilling adventure among the caves and concretions of the Castellana karst site.
