The musical events continue with “CHRISTMAS IN THE CAVES,” one of the most evocative Christmas-related events ever organized, taking place from December 1, 2015, to January 12, 2016, in the incredible setting of the Castellana Caves.
On Sunday, January 3, singer-songwriter SIMONE CRISTICCHI will bring “TRAVELS AND STORIES OF A SONGMAKER” to the heart of the earth, a journey through the almost boundless repertoire of an inimitable artist.
In LA GRAVE, the first of the caverns encountered when immersing oneself in the complex of underground cavities, an ideal location for live performances with its acoustics that allow for very special musical performances, in addition to Eugenio Finardi, Claudio Baglioni and Simone Cristicchi, one last leading name in Italian music will perform: STEFANO BOLLANI (8 January) with the unpredictable “ARRIVANO GLI ALIENI”, in which the maestro also tries his hand at singing and writing lyrics for the first time.
"For 'Christmas in the Caves,'" says Eugenio Finardi, the event's artistic director, "I've assembled an exceptional cast, with the aim of involving artists united by the ability to lead the audience on an existential exploration, ready to perform in a place that itself demands to be discovered and explored. Simone Cristicchi, with his show 'Travels and Stories of a Songmaker,' brings to light the roots of our history, with performances that are always touching and evocative, bold in both music and narrative."
The concerts by the four artists are part of a busy calendar of musical and religious events, under the artistic direction of EUGENIO FINARDI himself, with the artistic direction of PINO SAVINO (artistic director of Grotte di Castellana Srl), which will involve the Castellana Caves for over a month.
