An appointment not to be missed with the Workshops of the sixth edition of Scrivoanchio.it, a national multimedia creative writing competition reserved for children aged 14 to 18 who will arrive at 20.00 pm in Castellana Caves, in the wonderful setting of La Grave, with “The Scripture… different”, presentation of the web series “Welcome to Italy” with Donatella Altieri and Anna Moretti and the theatrical performance "La Zia d'America" by L. Sciascia with Paolo Panaro. The event will also feature performances of literary works by Lello Gurrado and Sopoti Besnik.
The competition, now well-established in Italian secondary schools for its originality, has so far seen almost 4500 online participants, 1000 competitors registered for the final stages, 1200 discussion topics opened by the students, 210.000 posts on the forum, more than 2000 members on Facebook and over 1 million visits to the website. www.scrivoanchio.it
This year, the 10 young finalist writers come from eight Italian regions and will meet in Alberobello (La Chiusa di Chietri base camp) where they will participate in a full immersion of traveling writing workshops in many locations in the Sea, Trulli and Caves district until July 25th.
The finalists of the 2015 edition are Acrì Chiara (15 years old, Sardinia), Bena Alice (16 years old, Lombardy), Clemente Giada (18 years old, Puglia), Maggio Zanon Luca (15 years old, Friuli V. Giulia), Mileti Chiara (16 years old, Puglia), Panaccio Martina (16 years old, Abruzzo), Picaro Mariarosaria (15 years old, Campania), Sulmona Elena (18 years old, Molise), Varegliano Rosalba (18 years old, Puglia), Zizzola Elena (15 years old, Veneto).
This year, too—continuing the "Legality and Writing" project, spearheaded by Don Aniello Manganiello and the "28" Cultural Association—the workshops' underlying theme will be "Social Issues," addressing current issues such as "Diversity and Immigration."
