The musical project
A "Home Insurance” sonorous, an imaginary Mediterranean, mixed-race music, a concert and a recording project finalist of the 2012 Tenco Prize (Arealive/Edel made with the support of Puglia Sounds), the only Italian CD in the top ten of September 2013 World Charts of Europe and soundtrack of the fiction The Gold of Scampia on Rai Uno 2014 with Beppe Fiorello.
This is the musical project that Raiz and Radicanto will bring to the Castellana Caves.
Everything begins from the meeting of Root with the Bari group Radicanto Consolidated in recent years with tours and recordings. A new concert, powerful and refined at the same time, in which the sonic universe of voices intertwining with rhythmic cadences, the echoes of strings, skins, and papyrus, flow like rivulets of a seemingly never-ending tale.
Author's songs by Raiz and Almamegretta (in competition at the 2013 Festival of Sanremo) reinterpreted with rhythm and elegance in a deconstructed key and brought back in filigree to their essence: the dimension of travel.
Sephardic chants, psalms, Neapolitan songs, Portuguese fado, North African, Middle Eastern, and Asian rhythms: languages and idioms that chase each other, a "democracy of the pentagram," the Mediterranean as a pan-regional reality, without borders. Words that become sound not in the sense of becoming the lyrics of a song, but in the sense of evoking the song.
"In a historical moment in which everything is ultra-parcelled, in the world of work as in art, we thought of an interaction operation like this – the artists explain – something that is obsolete today but that was the order of the day only the day before yesterday... We like to think that artistic expressions, although of various nature, are always the result of interaction and mutual influence: and so the atmosphere of a concert rather than of a record are often the result of other listening experiences, of watching films or contemplating works of figurative art, as well as naturally of the personal experiences of the artists who propose it.".
