There were 7417 visitors to the Castellana Caves (Ba) in a busy Easter weekend (between Saturday 20th and Monday 22nd April) with a percentage increase of 6,6% compared to the same weekend last year (in 2018 there were 6957 visitors to the Apulian karst complex).

At Easter (1881 visitors) and Easter Monday (4152) percentage increases of 13% and 8% respectively were recorded, despite the persistence of climatic conditions which only slightly slowed down the tourist influx.

HELL IN THE CAVE AT THE CASTELLANA CAVES: NEW PERFORMANCES ON APRIL 24TH AND 30TH

Double replica for Hell in the Cave – verses dancing in the dark air, the largest underground air show in the world, a multimedia representation of Dante Alighieri's Inferno, the only permanent show in Puglia.

Inspired by Dante's circles of the Divine Comedy, Hell in the Cave is hell seen from the center of the earth, 70 meters underground, among karst concretions shaped by nature over 90 million years. An evocative setting serves as both the backdrop and the protagonist of the show, featuring damned souls and demons, but also celestial, pure-white figures led by the enchanting Beatrice. The cast of dancers and actors makes the Hell in the Cave experience unique, with its record-breaking numbers consistently breaking.
