The fourth edition of the PhilosophArs – the festival of philosophy and the human arts scheduled in the Castellana Caves (Ba) maximum Sunday 9 October 2022There will be three days of philosophical dialogues, performance events and workshops for children to delve deeper into the theme chosen for the 2022 edition: PhilosophArs will talk about “Borders”.
Matteo Morganti (Uniroma 3), Adriano Fabris (University of Pisa), Maria Benedetta Saponaro (Uniba), and Paolo Ponzio himself, Full Professor at the University of Bari and Director of the Department of Humanities Research and Innovation, will analyze and explore the various nuances and multiple meanings of the theme. The evenings will be enriched by the theatrical performance "Il Codice del Volo" by and with Flavio Albanese and a live musical performance by Borders, a trio composed of Pierpaolo Martino (Uniba) on double bass, Alessandro Pipino (Radiodervish) on accordion and diatonic accordion, and Enzo Granella (Radicanto) on vocals and guitar. Finally, on Sunday morning, we'll play with philosophy with Annalisa Caputo (Uniba) and the Philosophia Ludens staff.
PhilosophArs 2022 is organized by Ets Hand TiedIn partnership with Puglia region, Municipality of Castellana Grotte e Castellana Caves srl, with the patronage ofUniversity of the Studi of Bari “Aldo Moro” and of the project ABCD – The Alphabet of Democratic Citizenship and with the support of Cotrap.
It begins Friday October 7 2022 19,30 hours with the presentation of the 2022 edition in the presence of the scientific director Paolo Ponzio, the institutions and representatives of Legato a Mano. Following, at 20 hours, Matthew Morganti, associate professor in the field of logic and philosophy of science at the Department of Philosophy, Communication and Entertainment of the University of Rome Tre, deals with general philosophy of science, philosophy of physics and analytical metaphysics, will speak on “Science, non-science, anti-science: boundaries”. at 21 hours, finally, PhilosophArs will host “The Code of Flight” by and with Flavio Albanese for a production Company of the Sun: on the stage of the Grave the life, the adventures, the miracles and the secrets of Leonardo Da Vinci, the greatest genius of humanity.
Saturday October 8 2022, 20 hours, always in the Grave of the Castellana caves, Adriano Fabris, full professor of Moral Philosophy at the University of Pisa where he also teaches Philosophy of Religions and Ethics of Communication, director and member of the editorial boards of numerous Italian and foreign philosophical journals and series, together with Maria Benedetta Saponaro, professor of Bioethics at the Department of Humanistic Studies of the University of Bari and vice President of the Italian Society for Bioethics and Ethics Committees since 2015, will discuss “Limits and Boundaries: Space as a Relationship”. at 21 hours, instead, the program will propose an unpublished live music with “Borders”The trio, composed of Pierpaolo Martino on double bass, Alessandro Pipino on accordion and diatonic accordion, and Enzo Granella on vocals and guitar, is a researcher in English literature at the University of Bari, a composer, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist with Radiodervish, and a guitarist, author, and composer with Radicanto. They have come together for PhilosophArs 2022 and have made crossing borders their musical philosophy, connecting French, Irish, and Apulian folk traditions through reinterpretations of classics and original compositions, creating an imaginary soundtrack in real time where past and present, tradition and innovation, redefine each other.
Sunday October 9 2022, finally, starting from the 10 hours, at the Franco Anelli Speleological Museum in the Castellana caves, Annalisa Caputo, professor of theoretical philosophy at the University of Bari "Aldo Moro", together with Gemma Adesso, Michela Casolaro and Luca Romano with the staff of Philosophia ludens for children (Horizon Abcd project) will meet children between 7 and 10 years old for “Playing with philosophy”.
Engaging children aged 7 to 10, to play with philosophy—with words, questions, images—and to create together a beautiful city, tailored to them, and therefore perhaps finally tailored to us "grown-ups" too. A project promoted by the University of Bari research group "Abbecedario della cittadinanza democratica," funded by the European Union (Next EU Generation), and led by the "Philosophia ludens per bambini" team.
