Authorial music returns to live Largo S. Leone Magno, in Castellana Grotte. Two days, August 24th and 25th, for the third edition of "Tieni il tempo" (Keep Time)., the event Organized by the cultural association ETRA ETS, with the contribution of the Municipality of Castellana Grotte and Grotte di Castellana srl as part of the Summer Squares program..
The protagonists of the two days will be musicians, journalists and philanthropists in a crescendo of quality musical offerings that starts from an important anniversary, the tenth anniversary of the death of Enzo Jannacci, an artist who wrote and sang to tell the story of everyday life, a curious musician who made Italian music and entertainment great since the late 1950s, a committed doctor, always on the side of the humblest and the marginalized, a successful figure in the theater, on television, and at the cinema.
The only Apulian stage of "Ecco tutto qui" will take place on Thursday, August 24th, at 21 p.m. in Largo S. Leone Magno. a show produced and distributed by Bubba music, which takes inspiration from the publication of the book written by Paul Jannacci and the journalist Enzo Gentile, published by Hoepli. An evening of words and music during which it will be possible to understand, through a deeper exploration of his records and songs, who Enzo Jannacci was. It will be a reflection on his career, in a meeting with his son Paolo, also a close collaborator from concerts to the recording studio, and with Enzo Gentile, a journalist who saw him up close and knew him well. Together, they will discuss him, with two microphones and a piano, also for
listen again to some of the songs that make up the soundtrack of our country.
Following a common thread that links music and solidarity, On Friday, August 25th, again at 21 pm and again in Largo S. Leone Magno, Patrick Girondi & The Orphan's Dream will take the stage.
The Italian-American bluesman and philanthropist, originally from Puglia, will perform a concert featuring songs from his latest album and classics from his repertoire. A singer-songwriter and entertainer with a difficult past, constantly traveling between Altamura and his hometown of Chicago, Patrick Girondi is the founder of Orphandream, a foundation that supports scientific research into rare diseases. In the United States, thanks to his popularity, Girondi has raised over $50 million through albums and concerts for medical research into sickle cell anemia, thalassemia, and other rare diseases. He has received numerous awards and recognitions in Italy and abroad. In "Focaccia Blues," the film by the late Nico Cirasola—confirming Girondi's connection to Altamura—he sang "Flim flam man" and "It's your time," a song that later became a music video directed by Luigi Porzia and awarded at the Giffoni Film Festival.
