Following the success of the summer, the Castellana Caves are back for fall 2021 with special Speleonight and Speleofamily tours. Throughout the month of October, the karst site, one of Puglia's main tourist attractions, will welcome visitors with traditional guided tours as well as exclusive activities led by the speleologists of the Puglia Grotte Group.
Speleonight, a sensory underground experience that reveals a different side of the karst site, is scheduled for every Friday in October (1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th, meeting at 19:30 PM, departure at 20:00 PM). The outward journey takes place in the dark, with only the lights on the helmets, in an intense silence where the patter of the water drops is amplified and the concretions reveal themselves in unique detail. Two highlights: the desert corridor traversed alone, a unique experience in the underground world, and the switching on of the lights in the White Cave, marking the illuminated return journey.
The Speleofamily tour, a multisensory tour for families and all ages, offers a chance to explore hidden corners of the caves and relive the excitement of the first explorers, discovering their history and geology. It will run every weekend in October (2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, 24, 30, and 31, meeting at 18:30 PM, departure at 19:00 PM). Also designed for children ages 4 and up, the Speleofamily tour offers an alternative route to the traditional tourist route. Led by professional speleologists, you'll explore using only the light of your helmet for a thrilling adventure among the caves and concretions of the Castellana karst site.

To access the tour, you must have a Green Pass (digital or paper) for those aged 12 and over, and submit a completed self-certification form, available online on the official website or at the ticket office and info point near the caves.
