Over 3 tourists have visited the Castellana Caves (Ba) From the reopening to the public on Saturday the 15th until the end of May. In just over two weeks, the karst site has confirmed itself as one of Puglia's main tourist attractions, recording growing numbers, with peaks on weekends. An excellent start to the season, therefore, following the closure of the previous months.
After the opening to the public of the complete and partial visits of the tourist route, the appointments with Speleonight, an exclusive visit to the caves with the guidance of speleologists from Puglia Caves Group, which allows you to relive the sensations of the first explorers, a nocturnal experience that reveals a different side of the karst site. The outward journey takes place in the dark, with only the lights on the helmets, in an intense silence where the patter of the water drops is amplified and the concretions are revealed in unique detail. Two highlights: the desert corridor traversed alone, a unique experience in the underground world, and the switching on of the lights in the White Cave, marking the illuminated return journey. As always, tourists are asked to follow the safety protocol specifically designed for the karst site, which includes, among other requirements: limited group sizes, temperature checks, social distancing, and the use of safety devices.
