He returns to the scene in Castellana Caves (Ba) Hell in the Cave, an underground aerial show, a free performance of the first canticle of the Divine Comedy at a depth of 70 meters. Eleven events are scheduled for summer 2021, with three performances scheduled for Saturdays in July (17, 24, and 31), while the number of weekly performances will double in August, when spectators will be welcomed into the Grave every Thursday and Saturday (5, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21, 26, and 28).
The gates of Hell officially reopen in the first cavern of the Castellana Caves, which is preparing to welcome spectators back to offer them a unique and unforgettable experience, in this 2021 designated by the Ministry of Culture as the year of Dante Alighieri as it marks the seven hundredth anniversary of his death. Directed by Enrico Romita and the dramaturgy of Giusy FrallonardoHell in the Cave is a sensory show born from a fascination and a great love for Dante's language and work. A show that combines dance, voices, sounds, and lights, embracing the entire natural environment of the largest cavern in the Castellana Caves as a stage.
On stage, for each performance, actors, performers, and dancers offer the audience a moving performance, while the evocative power of Dante's verses blends with a unique natural setting. The chosen cantos are among the most famous, featuring characters such as Lucifer, Minos, Pier delle Vigne, Ciacco, Paolo and Francesca, Count Ugolino, Brunetto Latini, Ulysses, and Beatrice.
