Record numbers at the Castellana Caves. Since the beginning of the year, data shows an 82% increase in online bookings and a 45% increase in admissions compared to the same months in 2022.

The Castellana Caves give the numbers and they do it starting from the success of the last ones

The activity of the Castellana Caves continues and continues to record record numbers
since the beginning of this year
The recorded data confirm the effectiveness of the programming of the
Caves which provides for the destagionalization of the classic visits, the speleonights and the
speleofamily, and replicas of the aerial-underground show “Hell in the Cave” that all
the year brings – into the depths of the Grave – Dante's Inferno.

Around 8.500 tourists reached the Castellana Caves for the weekend of
May 1st, over 9.600 tourists registered from April 22nd to 25th
.
Since the start of the year the number of registered tourists, compared to 2022, has almost doubled:
58.479 in 2023 against 33.672 last year; 13.808 more tourists for the month of
April.

Entrance fees to the Caves have increased by 45%, online bookings by 82 percent
compared to 2022. A sharp increase (+78%) thanks to the sending of over 28 thousand letters directly to
Institutions across the country, including school visits
– for the karst site and for “Hell in the
Cave” – and reservations for workshops reserved for schools of all levels.
The number of reruns of “Hell in the Cave” has tripled compared to last year
meet the demands of schools and evening audiences: from 7 to 21 performances (up to the show on the 29th
April) for a total of 6.202 spectators compared to 1.178 in 2022

In the last few months we have made an effort to optimize the organization to give visitors the

For example, we've pushed hard for online bookings to ensure tourists have as little waiting time as possible, and we've contacted all the schools in Italy to let them know that the Castellana Caves remain an important cultural hub for the area and beyond. We work every month as if we were the peak tourist season.

Meanwhile, reservations have already opened for the next dates of speleonight, speleofamily and “Hell in the Cave”. In particular, these are the dates of the new appointments:
Speleonight May 6 and 20 at 8:00 PM; June 1, 16, and 30 at 8:30 PM;
Speleofamily May 7, 14, 21, and 28 at 5:30 pm; June 11, 18, and 25 at 6:30 pm;
Hell in the Cave May 13th and 27th, June 3rd and 24th at 21.00pm.
