The wonderful scenery of the Castellana Caves (Ba) together with Italian culture and music to tell their story in Türkiye and Lebanon through social media. This is the goal of the project conceived by Halftone, a vocal group of Apulian origins that promotes Italy around the world with its shows, supported by theItalian Cultural Institute of Beirut and by the 'Italian Cultural Institute in Istanbul, and hosted by the Castellana karst site, one of the main tourist attractions in Puglia, which on June 21st starting at 19:00 pm will simultaneously broadcast on their respective Facebook pages a concert from inside the Grave cave.
Performing in the evocative setting 60 meters below the surface are Mezzotono, five artists who have been committed to spreading Italian culture abroad through music and irony for several years, alternating amusing gags with performances of songs from jazz to pop, from bossa nova to folklore, from big band style to classical music, all using only their voices, which imitate the sound of musical instruments through harmonies and rhythms.
“This project was born from the desire to continue promoting Italy abroad through our show, despite the impossibility of continuing our tours due to the pandemic. - he highlighted Fabio Lepore, founder of Mezzotono – This year we were supposed to go to Lebanon and Turkey, so we decided to involve the two respective Italian Cultural Institutes, proposing as an added value the broadcast of the concert from one of the most beautiful and evocative places in our country: the Castellana Caves.
