The Hot Summer of “HELL IN THE CAVE”
The rich calendar of events featuring Dante's Inferno
in the Castellana Caves
Castellana Grotte, June 4, 2017 – A summer of high emotional tension at the Castellana Caves with the show “Hell in the Cave – verses dancing in the dark air", the largest underground air show in the world.
Inspired by the circles of Dante's Divine Comedy, "Hell in the Cave" is Dante's Inferno seen from the center of the earth, 70 meters underground, among karst concretions shaped by nature over 90 million years. The Caverna della Grave is the evocative setting that both frames and stars the show, among damned souls and demons, but also with the celestial and enchanting Beatrice.
The next appointment with the biggest permanent show in Puglia is scheduled for 22th July (Box office opens at 8:00 PM, gates open at 8:45 PM, show starts at 9:00 PM). Upcoming events on the calendar: July 29, August 5 – 10 – 12 – 13 – 17 – 19 – 24 and 26, September 2 – 9 -16 – 23 -30.

Hell in the Cave is a project produced by Grotte di Castellana srl, created by Alephtheatre, directed by Enrico Romita and dramatized by Giusy Frallonardo, with choreography by Vito Cassano and aerial choreography by Claudia Cavalli.

A combination ticket (including the Castellana Caves tour and the White Grotto) and a Hell in the Cave ticket are also available: the total cost will be €28 instead of €36.
