Three unmissable events organized by the Castellana Caves under the patronage of Municipality of Castellana Grotte (Ba) will liven up the city center for three evenings in August. Adding to the already vast tourist offerings of the Castellana karst site are three free events, which for three evenings, starting at 21:00 PM, will feature three major Italian artists in Largo Porta Grande.
The first date Monday August 8 will be with Rocco Papaleo in Coast to Coast, a journey through words, music, songs, poetic and realistic tales, monologues, and surreal gags. An actor, author, director, and entertainer, as well as a singer and musician, Papaleo has cultivated and skillfully practiced song-theater for 25 years. Coast to Coast It's a show presented as a scrapbook to be leafed through, made up of scattered thoughts, brief notes, and unfinished rhymes that become musical words: a successful experiment that nods to Gaber and Basilicata. The title alludes to the impossibility of stopping, to the knowledge of being transitory, to the understanding that everything is temporary and therefore always being amazed. Which is more or less the meaning of the journey we take every day, every day, as long as we're allowed to look out the window.
A few days later, Friday August 12 it will be the turn of Ermal Meta in concert – Summer Tour 2022, a live performance by the multifaceted artist who will present his new single and his greatest hits to fans. Author, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and singer, Ermal Meta, after his experience as a member of the groups Ameba 4 and La Fame di Camilla in the 4s, embarked on a solo career in 2013. In 2018, he won the 2018 Sanremo Music Festival alongside Fabrizio Moro with the song "Non mi avete fatto niente" and represented Italy with Moro at the Eurovision Song Contest, held in Lisbon, finishing fifth. From March 4th, a new single, a new project, and a beautiful four-handed adventure will be available on all digital stores and radio stations: A bigger story, sung by Ermal Meta and Giuliano Sangiorgi.
Finally Tuesday August 16 will be Fabio Concato with Musico Ambulante Tour To thrill Castellana Grotte in a concert centered on music and words, somewhere between serious and humorous, a long journey from 1977, the year of his recording debut, to the present day. The Musico Ambulante Tour will be an opportunity to hear not only his greatest hits, but also many other songs from his rich repertoire. He's now 38 years old, but he doesn't look it at all! Since those "Storie di Sempre" (1977), audiences have immediately understood they're dealing with an elegant songwriter, capable of great self-irony, and always attentive to environmental, social, and civil issues: his songs have become part of the history of Italian music and have accompanied us to this day, showing no signs of aging, but rather crystallizing emotions and verses that have entered the collective imagination.
The three free events are organized by Grotte di Castellana srl, managed by the Board of Directors composed of the president, surveyor Francesco Manghisi, the vice president, surveyor Margherita Costante and the councilor, lawyer Monica Di Monte, with the patronage of the Municipality of Castellana Grotte, and included in the rich calendar of Summer Squares 2022, summer events organised and promoted by the Municipality of Castellana Grotte and the Castellana Caves, which will enliven the squares and symbolic places of the city with music, theatre, sport and food and wine, and will be added to the tourist offer of the Castellana Caves, which in addition to the guided tours the underground route also includes special visits Speleonight and Speleofamily, the observations of the sky of A night with Sirius and the show inspired by Dante's Inferno Hell in the Cave.
