The Castellana Caves aired on Japanese TV
A Tokyo Broadcasting System crew filmed an episode of the program "Discovering the Wonders of the World."
January 11, 2017, Castellana Grotte – A welcome return to the Castellana Caves. Greeted by a picturesque snow-covered landscape, a Japanese news crew stopped at the Castellana Caves on Tuesday, January 10, to film an episode of a popular television program airing on the national television network TBS (Tokyo Broadcasting System). This is already the second time our caves have been covered by Japanese television, which has recently shown increasing interest in the Puglia region and the Castellana Caves, given the increase in tourism from the "rising sun."
An episode of the program "Discovering the Wonders of the World" was filmed at the Caves. This in-depth program is particularly well-known and popular in Japan, having won numerous awards and recognitions, with an average audience share of 16-18%. The crew consisted of Japanese presenter and actress Anna Hachimine, who hosts the program, a director, a cameraman, and a sound engineer. Accompanying her to the Caves were translator Hiromi Saga of M&M Mediaservice in Rome, who coordinated the filming project in Italy, and Castellana Caves guide Laura Lisi.
At the end of February, the episode filmed in Puglia will air on Japanese national television, offering the Castellana Caves another prominent promotional opportunity. This is an important step in the Castellana Caves' strategic promotion plan, complementing the work undertaken thus far by the board of directors, led by President Domi Ciliberti.
