The Italy-Russia cross-over year begins in September
Castellana Caves, September 25, 2013 The Grotte di Castellana Srl team continues its relentless efforts. After intense promotional activity that began in the early months of the year, including co-marketing and partnerships with leading national and international companies, the team is now expanding to the borders of Europe, taking part in the 19th International Travel and Tourism Fair in Moscow for four days.
Considered Russia's most important meeting point for tour operators and tourism reception professionals, a delegation of industry professionals, along with Domi Ciliberti, president of Grotte Srl, attended the fair from September 17th to 20th with a stand shared with some of the most important companies from the towns of Castellana, Polignano, and Alberobello.
This crucial participation was made possible thanks to funding from the National Union of Entrepreneurs and Farmers of Puglia (UNSIC) and the Bari Chamber of Commerce, as part of the "Travel and Business in the Land of Bari" project, which aims to highlight the landscape, food and wine, cultural, and natural resources of our region.
An essential stage, that of the Moscow Fair which, through the consolidation of a network of relationships with operators in the sector, It will strengthen the positioning of the Apulian karst site among the most sought-after tourist destinations in the coming years.
This forecast is also supported by the "Year of Cross-Italy-Russia Tourism" project, signed by the ministers of the two nations last March and which began this September. This project includes a series of activities (such as organized events, conferences, fairs, press trips, an increase in direct flights between Russian and Italian cities, and the proposal of travel packages with unique tourist itineraries) as well as intergovernmental agreements for the mutual development of tourism.
"The Moscow fair," emphasized President Domi Ciliberti, "which follows those in Stuttgart and Cologne, where we previously participated, represents the flagship of European industry events. We are confident in strengthening our relationship with the Russian community, so much so that we will soon be recruiting native-speaking operators who will ensure an increasingly high level of hospitality for Eastern European tourists in the future. We are pleased," continued Ciliberti, "to have successfully exploited the call for proposals from the Bari Chamber of Commerce, which allowed us to participate free of charge in six international events, including the one in Moscow. Our next appointment is at the end of October: destination Kiev."
