March will be lived in the name of emotions for those who decide to
participate in one of the activities offered by the Castellana Caves.
Experiences that will lead the tourist to experience the karst site in a different, intimate way,
spectacular, depending on the activity you choose.
First, the SPELEONIGHT, a visit that takes place in a small group of
people, all equipped with helmets and lights, guided by two expert speleologists of the
Puglia Grotte Group. An alternative route to the tourist one, which brings the
visitor to the roots of primordial sensations. The speleonight is above all a
emotional moment: it includes the small beam of light produced by the helmet or
even lights off up to the White Grotto to admire the microscopic
form the wonder, and artificial lighting on the way back to admire the macroscopic,
the majesty of the caves. An experience in which all the senses come into play in a
silence which paradoxically amplifies the sense of hearing so much that it becomes
It is possible to listen to the ticking of water drops and discover new details of the
concretions, as in the clothes of the first explorers. Caves, caverns, corridors in which
can feel the contact with the earth, the sensation of entering the mother's womb-
land.
Two speleonights are scheduled for this month: March 10th and 3rd, at 19.00pm.
For those who want to organize a family outing, the evocative and profound experience of the
speleonight, is designed for children: it is the SPELEOFAMILY.
A one kilometre long route, also in this case an alternative to the traditional one
tourist route, recommended for families, an experience that will stimulate the little ones
(children are allowed access from 4 years old and up) and which will lead them to be one
with nature. Led by professional speleologists, we set off on an exploration.

Three speleofamily events to report at the moment: March 5th and 19th at 12.30pm and April 2nd
at 17.30.
And finally HELL IN THE CAVE, the only underground air show in the world that unites
dance, voices, sounds and lights in the natural setting of the Caves. A show that has
debuted in 2011 and for over 10 years, like a Broadway show, has recorded hundreds of sold-out performances and attracted thousands of people to Castellana Grotte
