Promoting the Castellana Caves at the Berlin International Fair
Castellana Grotte, March 15, 2017 – Hundreds of buyers and tour operators from around the world. The Castellana Caves tirelessly continue their international promotional activities. Last weekend, they stopped in Berlin, Europe's economic capital, to participate in the ITB Berlin, the International Travel and Tourism Fair, which took place in the German capital from March 8th to 12th.
The Castellana Caves Society seized the opportunity to meet with the many international tour operators present at the exhibition, who were particularly interested in our underground caves, "Wonder of Puglia." Representing the Castellana Caves Society were President Domi Ciliberti and Vice President Vincenzo Montaruli, who met with buyers and initiated collaborative relationships aimed at further increasing the number of foreign tourists visiting our caves, and in particular, attracting German tourists, who in recent years have shown an appreciation for Puglia and its treasures.
"International promotional efforts continue relentlessly," explains President Domi Ciliberti, "because raising awareness of the Castellana Caves automatically increases the number of visitors to our karst site and benefits the entire town of Castellana. The results already achieved in recent years have proven us right, with 2016 witnessing a record 310 visitors and an average of 400 at the many Caves-related events. The efforts we have launched are significant and will continue tirelessly, ensuring that tourists increasingly associate Puglia with the Castellana Caves, as our Caves are the region's primary tourist attraction." This explains the Caves' presence at all trade fairs that feature Puglia.
The Caves will soon be present at other long-scheduled international promotional events, including the BIT (International Tourism Exchange) in Milan, which will take place from April 2nd to 4th. During the Milanese trade fair, the Castellana Caves have been invited to participate in a press presentation, an evening event aimed at national press representatives. An event within an event, the Castellana Caves will be among its keynote speakers.
