WHITE, BLACK AND THE SINGING BAT
Black and White they are two young lovers who after many years of loving glances and thoughts try to live their love story. The parents si they oppose to their relationship since it was tradition that Bianca should marry Bianco and Nero should marry Nera. Bianca's parents, fearing that their daughter would run away from home in a classic elopement, they decide to lock her up for some time in a hidden underground room In the open countryside. Nero, distraught over the disappearance of his beloved, desperately tries to find her, but fails; poor Bianca, deeply saddened, begins a long, silent, and "sparkling" cry. One night, however, a bizarre bat disturbed by Bianca's constant crying and Nero's incessant screams, decides to take flight and intervene for help the two young people revealing an incredible reality…
Objectives
- Stimulate learning about the “cave world” by dispelling taboos or fears
- Stimulate interest in the wonders of the underground

- Introducing the child to the abstract world of underground environments
METHOD
Through an entertaining story and communication techniques suited to the target audience, the underground environment and its "creation" will be introduced in ways appropriate to the cognitive level of the participants.
The tale will foster interest in a world that too often inspires fear, simplify understanding of phenomena, attempt to provide a fascinating explanation of speleogenesis and the concretions typical of caves, and conclude with a positive message and an important moral.
The workshop includes a mini tour of the Castellana Caves, based on the story "Bianca, Nero and the Singing Bat," and will be completed in a classroom at the Speleological Museum, where students can draw their memories of the caves and the story.

AN ALTERNATIVE "JOURNEY" BETWEEN NARRATIVES AND CHEMICAL EXPERIMENTS

Il “H2Oltre” educational laboratory It will be a path that will lead to a greater awareness of the values and meanings of the water element, not only understood as a limited and precious resource but as a characterizing element of the entire planet.
The experience will introduce the topic of "water" through an alternative "journey" that will unravel between narratives and chemical experiments: this will offer the student the simple but essential pre-orientation tools, preparing him for the final activity of observation and recognition of the underground environment which will happen by means of a specific guided tour.
Furthermore, the “H2Oltre” laboratory will be a means through which the hypogeal and epigeal phenomena that regulate the “karst” phenomenon will be easily explained, offering itself as a perfect introduction to the tourist visit to the cave. touch (not only visual) with different types of rocks, chemical experiments, the direct vision of the “properties” of water and the calcareous concretions they generate, will stimulate the learning of simple biological, chemical and physical phenomena but so far from our daily lives that they seem almost “impossible”.

METHOD
Method Interactive implemented through direct contact with speleothems or laboratory instruments.
Students will have the opportunity to "touch" a large number of formations and to intuit their genesis and profound physical differences by experimenting with the dissolution of calcium carbonate or the formation of the dangerous but essential carbon dioxide using laboratory equipment.
Numerous other experiments will help us understand the fundamental properties of water, allowing us to understand many phenomena and some geological aspects of epigeal and subterranean territories.
