HANDS-ON LEARNING FOR SCHOOLS
A school trip to the Castellana Caves offers much more than just an educational outing. It provides a unique opportunity to observe the natural and geological phenomena that reveal millions of years of the Earth's history first-hand.
Walking XNUMX metres underground amidst stalactites, stalagmites, fossils and karst cavities transforms theoretical knowledge into pure emotion. Thus, a day in the caves becomes an engaging educational experience that complements and enriches the school curriculum, offering moments of discovery, wonder and environmental awareness.
The educational proposal is designed for students of all levels and is coordinated by the APS SottoSopra and by the 'Sirio Astronomical Cultural Association'. These organisations have extensive experience in science communication, cultural tourism and environmental education.
The teaching materials provided to teachers enable them to prepare for, follow up on and explore the experience further in the classroom as well, thereby ensuring continuity in the learning process.
