After the triptych of Christmas concerts at 70 meters depth, in the Grave delle Castellana Caves (Ba), with Raphael Gualazzi, PFM and The Harlem Voices feat. Eric B. Turner, continues the program of Winter Caves 2018, calendar of events promoted by the Castellana Caves srl, under the patronage of the Municipality of Castellana Grotte, in collaboration with Hell in the Cave and World Dance Movement, as part of the Crossing Arts project.
“After the wonderful emotions of the three concerts before and after Christmas – commented the president of Grotte di Castellana srl Victor Casulli, head of the Board of Directors also composed of the vice president Francesco Manghisi and the councilor Maria Lacasella We are looking forward to other equally significant events. It is important to highlight, in this case, the synergy with the Municipal Administration of Castellana Grotte and the openness to events taking place in the caves area and in the town center, entertainment opportunities open to all.
It begins Sunday December 30 with a new replica of Hell in the Cave – verses dancing in the dark air, the re-enactment of Dante's Inferno at 70 metres depth, and with the concert “What a band!” in Largo San Leone Magno in the heart of Castellana Grotte (event organized in collaboration with the Confartigianato Upsa association).
After the show “Dance of Verses” scheduled for Thursday 3 January at the Anelli Speleological Museum (POSTPONED TO SUNDAY JANUARY 13 AT 6:30 PM), in Anelli square from Friday 4th to Sunday 6th January the unreleased one is scheduled “Befana at the caves” with street artists, food and wine, live music, the arrival of the Befana and the initiatives related to the fourth edition of Befanone organized by the Castellana Conviene association.
Also worth remembering are the events on January 10th with Speleonight, the exclusive night visit, to be experienced for long stretches in the dark and for some stretches alone, in small groups, to fully enjoy the emotions of exploring the karst complex of the Castellana caves, on January 12th with the actors, dancers and acrobats of Hell in the Cave who will welcome the arrival of the new year and the appointment until January 12th in Piazza Garibaldi in Castellana Grotte with “Fun on Ice – ice rink”.
WHEN TO VISIT THE CASTELLANA CAVES?
Until January 6th, there will be four guided tours of the Castellana Caves: during the upcoming holidays, in fact, it will be possible to complete the entire itinerary inside, up to the White Cave, at four times: two in the morning (at 10 am and 12 pm) and two in the afternoon (at 14 pm and 16 pm).
After January 6th, however, visits will always be possible during the two morning opening hours of 10 am and 12 pm. Finally, as usual, the Castellana Caves will be closed on New Year's Eve (all day on January 1st, 2019).
