THE CASTELLANA CAVES ON GEO&GEO
The cameras of the popular RAI3 program this afternoon at around 16 pm will showcase the beauty of the karst site with an exclusive report hosted by naturalist Francesco Petretti.
Castellana Grotte, March 18, 2016 – National television once again visits the Castellana Caves. Following Alberto Angela's report, which aired last October on "Ulisse, the Pleasure of Discovery," this afternoon, at approximately 4:00 PM, an episode dedicated to the Castellana karst site will air on Geo&Geo, the popular and highly watched RAI3 program hosted by Sveva Sagramola and nature photographer Emanuele Biggi.
The Castellana Caves, therefore, are once again the focus of the small screen, this time in a segment hosted by Professor Francesco Petretti dedicated to everyday situations related to the relationship between man and nature.
And it was Professor Petretti himself who, on March 9th, visited the Castellana Caves with director Francesca Catarci and was enchanted. "It's truly a fairytale landscape," the host commented, "capable of enchanting anyone. They look like fairy caves. An incredible landscape full of tunnels, passages, and chambers that could hold an entire town. They are more than a landscape; they are an ecosystem that thrives with its creatures adapted to perpetual darkness. Many, in fact, tell almost unbelievable stories of when Puglia was connected to the Balkans."
