"Wonder of Puglia": The Castellana Caves presents themselves with their new logo.

Castellana Grotte, February 20, 2013 A thin, modern, and harmonious graphic line depicting stalactites and stalagmites, and a tagline that emphasizes the Castellana Caves' status as "a marvel of marvelous Puglia." These are the elements of the new logo for the Castellana Caves, presented at the Milan International Tourism Exchange by the new president of the Castellana Caves Society, Domi Ciliberti.

Castellana Caves presents its new logo

"Castellana Caves. A Wonder of Puglia": a certainty rather than a promise, addressed to Italian and international tourists in the region. A tagline that encapsulates the core of the communication strategy, which aims to position the Caves as one of the wonders of Puglia's tourism offering. A marvelous "pearl" that the region, rich in beauty, offers its visitors. A thrilling experience for tourists and a truly unique natural attraction, even at the national level, which would be a shame to miss out on.

The logo was designed by the art director Sara Tuvinelli for Purple & Noise PR, the company recently appointed to assist Grotte di Castellana with marketing, communications, and press relations.

"An image refresh was truly necessary," explains Domi Ciliberti, "and is part of a broader project aimed at rapidly bringing the Caves to a more contemporary level in terms of tourism marketing. Now that the logo has been created, we're rushing to quickly launch a new website. It's modern, streamlined, and optimized for SEO and SEM, and, most importantly, accessible on tablets and mobile devices, including for ticket purchases."

Tablets and mobile phones have become essential travel companions for every Italian and foreign tourist. The trend today is to search Google for "what to do" in a particular location when planning a vacation, or even while already under the umbrella.

"The primary marketing objective for Grotte di Castellana," states Domi Ciliberti, "is to increase visitor numbers, aligning with the regional growth trend. The BIT—in which Grotte di Castellana and the Municipality of Castellana Grotte participated with their own shared space within the Puglia Region stand, which was very busy throughout the event—was therefore a useful opportunity to discuss upcoming market scenarios and meet potential partners and tourism operators with whom to explore profitable future collaborations."

In 2012, the Castellana Caves were visited by 219.054 tourists (in 2011, there were 244.136).
