Le Castellana Caves they celebrate Earth Day 2021 with a project to raise awareness on environmental protection issues, joining the largest demonstration dedicated to protecting the planet, which takes place on April 22nd worldwide, with an initiative on the official social media of the karst site.
From Monday 12 to Thursday 22 April, for eleven consecutive days, images that tell the story of the territory beneath which the caves are hidden, showing the natural beauties on the surface, and those of the subsoil, of the karst complex with its mysterious fauna, will alternate on the page Facebook and the profile Instagram Dedicated to the Castellana Caves, these events showcase the Earth's beauty and, at the same time, draw attention to how to adopt a more sustainable lifestyle that respects the planet we inhabit. This is based on the premise that the environment is increasingly threatened and, unless sustainable lifestyles are adopted, risks collapse, along with all its beauty.
The visual narrative will culminate on April 22nd with a video conveying a message about respect and environmental sustainability. It will also explain how the karst ecosystem is influenced by the external environment, encouraging users to respect the planet and make sustainable choices.
The decision to use social media to raise awareness on this issue is not only driven by current needs, but also aims to engage as many users as possible. The climate and environmental emergency is a problem that concerns each of us. Every gesture and every personal act of daily life can play a role in safeguarding the Earth system.
