Here are all the ways to visit the Castellana hypogeum site for free on the morning of January 12, 2015.
As is tradition, this year on January 12th, all Castellana residents have the opportunity to visit the caves free of charge during the celebrations in honor of the city's patron saint, Maria Santissima della Vetrana.
The full tour will be available at 9.00 am, 10.00 am, 11.00 am, and 12.00 pm.
Tours are open to all and free for Castellana residents upon presentation of an ID. Reservations are not required, and we recommend arriving at the ticket office 30 minutes before the start of your chosen tour.
Also on January 12th, from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm, it will be possible to visit for the last time the wonderful nativity scenes set up in the Grave, the Caverna Della Lupa, and the Caverna dei Monumenti. Admission to the nativity scenes is free for Castellana residents (upon presentation of an ID) and for all children under the age of thirteen. Tickets can be purchased directly at the ticket office at the time of the visit.
Finally, for all visits, please remember to wear warm clothing and comfortable shoes.
