Castellana Caves Open to Buy Puglia
The Castellana karst site hosts around forty European and non-European tourist operators promoting the new wedding segment
Castellana Grotte, October 21, 2015 – This year, the Pugliapromozione Regional Tourism Agency and the Puglia Region's Department for the Mediterranean, Culture, and Tourism organized the third edition of Buy Puglia – Meeting & Travel Experience from October 19 to 22, attended by one hundred and twenty international buyers. The event, which aims to raise awareness of our region's historical and architectural aspirations, included the Castellana Caves as one of the highlights of the tour. Approximately forty foreign operators from major European and non-European markets were able to admire the wonders of Castellana Grotte's underground world. Among them was a group of operators on a wedding-themed itinerary, for whom a simulation of a wedding was prepared. For several months now, thanks to Resolution No. 52 of May 14, it has been possible to celebrate a wedding in the evocative setting of the Caverna della Grave. The tour operators, some of whom were originally Italian and had long since moved abroad, were delighted and had never seen the Castellana Caves. They even offered to include the Castellana karst site in many of their travel packages.
