CASTELLANA CAVES: CONQUERING ASIAN TOURISM
Castellana Grotte, September 14, 2017 – The Board of Directors of Grotte di Castellana Srl, chaired by attorney Marica Pace, continues its promotional efforts. Last Wednesday, the board attended an important workshop held at the Fiera del Levante, focusing on innovative training for repositioning Puglia in the Chinese tourism market.
Also speaking at the meeting were Loredana Capone, Councilor for Tourism and Cultural Industries, Management and Promotion of Cultural Heritage; Marco Bettin, Operations Director of the Italy-China Foundation; Marco Pertile, Head of Strategic Planning at Aeroporti di Puglia; and Irenella Sardone, Head of Communications at Pugliapromozione.
"We are pleased to have been invited to this interesting meeting," commented President Marica Pace. "A working group comprised of key figures in the Puglia tourism sector, united by the goal of sharing the tools and expertise needed to intercept and welcome Asian tourism, with a particular focus on Chinese tourists, who have been increasingly making an impact on our region in recent years. At the Castellana Caves, too," Pace continued, "we have seen an increase in visitors from China, and we believe our network of relationships with institutions and other local tourist attractions is essential to meeting the standards of this valuable pool of potential new visitors."
In line with President Marica Pace's vision, Councilor Capone, who hopes to grow in skills and cultural planning, said: "It's true, we don't have major infrastructure, but we are the region experiencing the greatest growth. We must promote tourism, focusing on training. We need to specialize."
