360-degree visibility and promotion with an information point in the heart of the parades, discount coupons for "Carnival Tourists," the Farinella Card, and dedicated social media communications.
Castellana Grotte, January 27, 2015 – Deseasonalizing and creating synergies with the local area. Strengthened by these objectives, the Board of Directors of Grotte di Castellana Srl, chaired by Domi Ciliberti, is taking this opportunity to join the Putignano Carnival in 2015 with an even more effective co-marketing initiative. During all the main parades taking place on January 31st and February 8th, 15th, and 17th, a personalized stand will be set up in Putignano's main square, staffed by specialized staff who will provide information about the Castellana underground site and invite tourists to visit. During the parade, alongside the majestic floats that have enlivened Europe's longest-running festival since 1394, ten thousand promotional coupons for Grotte and Hell in the Cave will be distributed.
Finally, a new feature this year is that anyone who shows their Farinella Card when purchasing a full-day ticket from January 30th to February 21st will receive a €3 discount. The Farinella Card, officially presented at a press conference on January 20th, 2015, at the Puglia Promozione headquarters, is a project promoting Puglia through the Putignano Carnival. It's an invitation to the "Puglia Experience" through a series of agreements activated by the Putignano Carnival Foundation with local tourist attractions, allowing "Carnival tourists" to visit our region, and in particular the Itria Valley, at a discounted rate.
This synergy allows the Castellana Caves to enjoy complete visibility in a context that attracts thousands of visitors every year. This 612th edition is even more effective thanks to the Apulian partners, including Teatro Pubblico Pugliese and Apulia Film Commission, and the six Greek partners: the Region of Epirus, the Region of the Ionian Islands, the Region of Western Greece, the Regional Union of Municipalities of Western Greece, the Technological Educational Institute of Epirus, and the Regional Theatre of Corfu. The increasingly social media-focused communication strategy is also crucial, supported by a smartphone app and the new website (www.carnevalediputignano.it). "We welcome the partnership with the Putignano Carnival," commented Domi Ciliberti – which finally seals the collaboration between two important entities, the Grotte and the Carnival. It continues the path undertaken over two years ago of working together, teaming up with other important local entities with the shared goal of becoming increasingly important tourist attractions. What until yesterday seemed like a major obstacle has gradually transformed into a major and concrete opportunity in terms of value and growth.
