The numerous actions to consolidate the security plan aimed at making the Castellana Caves A cardiac-protected destination. Following the installation of two new defibrillator stations in the tourist area a few days ago, two additional mobile AEDs are now available directly within the karst site. They will be available along the tourist trail, carried on shoulders, every day during visiting hours. They can be used directly by guides and companions who are specifically trained to provide first aid in the event of a cardiac arrest.
At the same time, with the support of Progetto Assistenza, the training already started for the workers of the Castellana tourist complex continues. In recent days, they participated in a BLS course. The aim of the course is to teach them how to intervene quickly and effectively to assist a person in cardiac arrest, including when and how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and learn the correct use of the AED.
