Great Russian Choir in concert in the Castellana Caves
The Great Academic Choir of the Russian State Humanitarian University will perform in concert Sunday December 21 at 19 in the Castellana Caves, led by Maestro Boris Tarakanov. The event is free, but reservations are required (infoline 080 4998212).
The Choir
The choir, founded in 1912, has received numerous international awards and performed with renowned artists such as José Carreras, Maria Gulegina, and many others. Baroness Margaret Thatcher, Galina Vishnevskaya, and Jean-Michel Jarre have given the choir top honors. The choir's repertoire, composed of over fifty members, is diverse, ranging from classical opera to sacred music, from Russian pieces to foreign classics, from folk songs to modern music, and even electronic music projects.
The Festival
The Great Russian Choir will stop in the Castellana Caves on the occasion of the 5th edition of the Russian-Italian Choral Festival In memory of the Archbishop of San Nicola, the Wonderworker of Myra "San Nicola di Bari. In Holy Memory..." promoted by the Cultural Association "DIES" on the Italian side and Chorus-Inside on the Russian side.
