Gigi D'Alessio in concert at the Castellana Caves
A NIGHT OF GREAT EMOTION
Gigi D'Alessio's concert, organized by the Castellana Caves, proved to be a standout event during the scorching summer in Puglia. The Neapolitan singer-songwriter was greeted enthusiastically by his many fans, who reciprocated with the openness and kindness that have always distinguished him. Over two hours of music and lyrics had his audience singing along at the top of their lungs. D'Alessio performed live the songs from his new album, released on his 50th birthday—from the Sanremo single "La Prima Stella" to the latest single, "T'innamori e poi"—as well as songs that have typified his 25-year career, hits that have thrilled entire generations, from "Il cammino dell'età" to "Quanti amori," "Non mollare mai," "Un nuovo bacio," and many others. The concert closed with the unforgettable "Non dirgli mai," which Gigi D'Alessio surprisingly dedicated to Mattia, a 14-year-old boy from Bari who suffers from autism. Before the concert, Mattia had met his idol in the dressing room, and D'Alessio was so touched by this that he dedicated the closing song to him. It was a deeply moving moment.

We are also extremely satisfied that everything was carried out with maximum safety, having strictly followed the instructions received from the Prefecture.
The Castellana Caves Society achieved its goal in organizing such a high-profile concert: to raise awareness of the karst site. It's no coincidence that between Monday and Tuesday, we had a record number of visitors. Furthermore, the Castellana Caves Society offered the people of Castellana the opportunity to experience a unique evening by attending one of its summer concert events.
For the excellent result achieved, I would like to thank the entire Castellana Caves team, the staff, and everyone who worked silently but tirelessly behind the scenes. A heartfelt thanks also goes to the police and the municipal administration.".
Regarding the numbers of this important evening, President Marica Pace specifies that "The maximum number of 5 spectators permitted by the Prefecture has been reached", but another thousand and probably even more were present in the streets adjacent to the concert area despite not being allowed to linger there and having been promptly asked by the police to leave for safety reasons. Around a hundred people were employed for the concert, including police, firefighters, civil protection, ATC Sotto Sopra staff, and technicians.
