After the more than positive numbers of the month of July, the Castellana Caves (Ba) are summing up a Ferragosto weekend that exceeded expectations. A total of 6.378 tourists (split roughly evenly across the three days) vacationed in Puglia and took advantage of the opportunity to admire the karst landscape between Friday, August 14th, Saturday, August 15th, and Sunday, August 16th, 2020.
These were three particularly busy days for the tourist site, which saw a steady flow of visitors, all while adhering to the safety protocols for containing the Covid-19 outbreak. “It was a busy three days but, thanks to careful and necessary planning and thanks to the collaboration of the staff and all the staff, everything went smoothly. – said the president Victor Casulli, member of the Board of Directors of the Castellana Caves srl together with the vice president Francesco Manghisi and to the councillor Maria Lacasella We are very pleased with the numbers recorded and, despite all the necessary restrictions, we are trying to ensure that all visitors have the opportunity to discover our magnificent caves. We now expect the tourist flow to continue throughout the second half of August and, as always, we encourage visitors to plan their arrival at the ticket office well in advance and to strictly comply with the rules imposed by the Prime Ministerial Decrees and our regulations.
All the initiatives that complete the tourist offer of the Castellana Caves, such as the special night visits, were also a great success. Speleonight and the appointments “A Night with Sirius” to discover the sky at the Astronomical Observatory, as well as for Hell in the Cave, a performance of Dante's Inferno for which, given the numerous requests registered, three new performances have been added to the calendar in addition to those already scheduled and now sold out. The show set in the Grave cave will also be performed Friday August 21, Friday August 28 e Saturday September 5 (Box office 20:15 PM – show starts 21:00 PM).
