GEOTOUR is a unique experience to get to know the phenomenon of 'karst' and be fascinated by the wonders of the underground world. An educational and engaging activity, designed to stimulate learning through direct observation, interaction, and emotion.
The experience is divided into two parts: an initial interactive phase conducted by experts, followed by a special experiential visit inside the Castellana Caves, along the short route.
During the introductory activity, participants will come into contact with different types of rocks, they will observe underground fauna, will carry out experiments and they will analyze calcareous concretions from various areas, learning to recognize shapes, origins, and characteristics. A true natural laboratory that allows for an accessible and engaging exploration of complex and fascinating geological, chemical, and biological phenomena.
The second part of the experience includes access to the cave with the help of individual lights, to experience the underground environment in a emotional and sensorialAlong the way, the information acquired will come to life through direct contact with the underground landscape, in a story that combines science, wonder, and beauty.

Cave & Star
Immersive visit to the belly of the earth and astronomical observation
CAVE&STAR It's a unique experiential activity, held after the Castellana Caves underground site is closed to the public. Designed for those who want to experience the cave in a completely different way, it offers a sensory and astronomical exploration that combines science, emotion, and wonder.
La first part of the experience It takes place inside the cave, in a reserved area of the "large caverns." The excursion, led by specialized personnel, alternates moments of scientific education with synesthetic and emotional stimulation, recreating the sensations experienced by the first explorers. The darkness, the sounds, the perception of time and underground space, stimulate profound reflection on the concept of the "unknown" and the connection between geological and astronomical time.
This inner and physical exploration into the heart of the Earth prepares participants for second phase of the activity: the observation of the sky.
After about an hour in the cave, the route continues in the Franco Anelli Museum, where a new journey begins, this time towards the depths of the cosmos. The expert astronomers of theSirius Astronomical Observatory They guide participants through an introductory lesson on reading the sky: from constellations to asterisms, from the main astronomical objects visible at our latitudes to orienting ourselves with our eyes alone.
Following this, weather conditions permitting, thedirect observation with the telescope of the celestial objects visible on that night, for an authentic contact with the universe.
In case of overcast skies or bad weather, the activity moves inside the Museum, where a dedicated room is set up with interactive astronomical laboratories, projection of 3D films and the use of the Stellarium digital planetarium, for a realistic simulation of the starry sky.
CAVE&STAR is an experience designed for those seeking something more: an opportunity to connect with Earth and Heaven, between science and poetry, exploration and awareness.
