Daniele Errico creates the new corporate video for the Castellana Caves.

Castellana Grotte, June 19, 2013 It took over thirty hours of filming, with photographer and director Daniele Errico and his team immersing themselves, camera and soul, in the depths of the Castellana Caves to create their new corporate video. Expertly guided by speleologist Sergio Carpinelli of the Puglia Grotte Group, he led them through the beauty and most evocative corners of the Apulian karst site.

Describing in just a few minutes an emotion, such as the one the Caves offer their visitors, while simultaneously conveying important messages—which the Caves management wanted to convey to the audience—such as accessibility for children and the elderly, the fact that the tour is always accompanied by expert guides, and the easy walkways suitable for all audiences, was a further motivation for Daniele.

Daniele Errico, a renowned photographer and talented filmmaker, has published for Repubblica, L'Espresso, Bell'Italia (his magnificent photos are featured in the latest issue, currently on newsstands), InViaggio, and other leading publications. He has also collaborated with major multinationals (for example, the photo of Peroni at Bari Airport). He has authored nature guides and, most recently, was the first photographer to explore the recently explored caves near Alberobello.

Filmed in HD (high definition) and with extensive use of the time-lapse technique (from the English 'time': “time” and 'lapse': “interval”, therefore time-lapse photography), in various formats and lengths suitable for all types of devices, the video will be used both for Italian and international audiences, as well as for the web, the press and promotion in general.

The video is a preview on the new Castellana Caves website.

The new Castellana Caves website

Created by 77agency (www.77agency.com), an international group employing over 100 people of 15 different nationalities in London, Milan, Riga, Amsterdam, Madrid, New York, and Sydney, and one of the most respected web agencies in Europe, the website www.grottedicastellana.it is built using the most up-to-date web programming techniques.

Developed on the WordPress platform, which allows for maximum flexibility in updating text, images, and graphics, as well as being the most widely used programming protocol, the portal was conceived with a minimalist design that gives full scope and space to the photographs of the Caves.

But above all, it adapts depending on the device from which it is viewed (PC, mobile phone, tablet), ensuring an optimal user experience regardless of the screen size.

Produced in four languages, it allows for effective SEO optimization, meaning it can be "fished" for keywords through Google (a true, powerful, and universal key to accessing the web for everyone, including potential tourists) and set up for social interactivity.

An important aspect is online ticket sales. Starting today, Italians and foreigners can purchase tickets directly from their PC, tablet, or even mobile devices (several hundred tickets have already been sold through the website, currently in testing).

The Grotte company can now intercept tourists whether they are on the nearby beach, as well as when preparing their trip, providing useful information (timetables, prices, etc.) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

A team based in Milan, Riga, and Castellana Grotte is currently working on the site's development, as it is not yet complete but will continue to develop new sections and content.

This too, if we want, represents a stimulating professional experience, desired by the Grotte Board of Directors, constantly ready and willing to "look beyond" to grant a decidedly broader and more enriching horizon for Grotte.
