A young singer who has already garnered success and recognition from the public, on this occasion, immersed in the splendid setting of the Grave, she will once again bring out unique emotions.
BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE
The young soprano, Daniela Degennaro, was born in Terlizzi (Bari) in 1983. From an early age, she showed a keen interest in the world of theater, and at the age of 10, she performed as a treble voice in a major production of Tosca. In 2003, she began studying singing at the Piccinni Conservatory of Music in Bari and graduated with honors in 2006 from the Duni Conservatory of Music in Matera. She then attended the post-diploma advanced training course in "Musical Theater" at the Tito Schipa Conservatory of Music in Lecce, appearing in the documentary film "Belcanto" by director E. Winspeare. She has also studied and participated in various masterclasses with K. Ricciarelli, C. Desderi, V. Terranova, E. Palacio, and Richard Barker.
He has won several international lyric singing competitions: first prize in the youth section at the F. Tagliavini International Competition in Deutschlandsberg, Austria (2005), second prize at the Mario Lanza in Molise (2007), first prize at the Gian Paolo Cresci in Lazio (2009), first prize at the Arturo Toscanini in Puglia (2010), special prize at the Toti Dal Monte for the role of Cio Cio San in Veneto (2011) and second prize at the Giacomo Puccini International Competition in Torre del Lago (Tuscany 2012).
She made her debut in 2005 as Giulietta in I Capuleti ei Montecchi at the Alighieri Theatre in Ravenna and the Giglio Theatre in Lucca as part of As.Li.Co., directed by Cristina Mazzavillani Muti, and with the I Pomeriggi Musicali Orchestra of Milan. This was followed by debuts in the roles of Donna Anna and Zerlina in Don Giovanni in Puglia, Basilicata, and Tuscany, and as Norina in Don Pasquale for the Società Filarmonia of Udine in the major cities of Friuli Venezia Giulia and in Zagreb, directed by Francesco Bellotto, and at the Theatres of Rieti and Volterra, conducted by La Stella, directed by Dario Micheli, and with the Nova Amadeus Orchestra.
In the 2010/11 season, she played Berta in the production of The Barber of Seville at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari, directed by Michele Mirabella and conducted by Vito Clemente. In February, she performed Norina in Don Pasquale at the Teatro Politeama in Lecce, directed by Francesco Bellotto. In autumn 2011, Daniela Degennaro sang the title role in Piccinni's La Cecchina at the Teatro Donizetti in Bergamo, conducted by Maestro Stefano Montanari.
In spring 2012 she made her debut in the challenging role of Marina in Wolf Ferrari's I quattro Rusteghi with the Royal Philharmonic Hall in Liverpool conducted by Vasily Petrenko where she received great acclaim from critics and audiences.
Among the numerous concerts, we especially remember Mozart's Exsultate, jubilate conducted by Oscar winner L. Bacalov and with the ICO Orchestra of Magna Grecia, recitals with the soloists of the Puccini Orchestra of Torre del Lago, recitals with the renowned Italian soprano Katia Ricciarelli in Tuscany and Faurè's Requiem in Ravenna and Ferrara.
He has to his credit the world premiere recording of the aria Napoli antica for the DAD Records label, by the composer R. Gervasio recorded with the Ensemble Mediterranée.
She currently attends the R. Celletti International Academy of Advanced Training in Martina Franca. She is represented by Puntoopera.
