The Cultural and Theatrical Association 'GROCA' of Castellana Grotte, affiliated with FITA, and Castellana Caves Srl, organize Friday, May 29, 2015 at 9:00 PM, in the splendid setting of the Caverna della Grave, a concert-show, entitled “CROSSROADS…when music, voices and dance meet”.
The project was born from the desire to bring together the words interpreted by the actors of the GROCA' theatre company and the movements of the ASD Danza e Spettacolo Ballet Company of Sandra and Antonella Sacchetti with the music of Dario Sképisi, the Bari-born artist who has dedicated his creative research to the rhythms and sounds of Brazilian music.
Currently, the Dario Sképisi Group, with its blend of traditional Brazilian spirit and sound, inevitable jazz influences, and Italian (pop)ular writing, represents one of the most interesting and original groups on the Bari scene. A completely new aspect of his musical experimentation is the original blend of Brazilian rhythms and dialect lyrics, an idea born from the musicality and distinctive truncation of Bari dialect words. This experimentation, with which the artist has broken the dialect's "out of tune" tone, is reflected in the definition of his repertoire as "Barisiliano," creating music that descends from distant vibrations, fused into a surprising new melodic pleasure.
His artistic career has been marked by important recognitions such as the “Jammin' Festival” live on Sky TV, the episode dedicated to him on “Brasil” in the Radio Uno Rai studios in Saxa Rubra, interviewed by Max De Tomassi, which was followed in the following years by subsequent participations, International Festival 2008 edition “Pietre che Cantano- Brazillusion”, NGAWARDS 2009 of the Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno – Teatro Team; “E' Qui la Musica” 1st edition of the Fiera del Levante Bari music festival – live with F. Bosso, D. Scannapieco, G. Silveira. Showcase at “Number 5” in London in 2009. Live in London at the Italian Cultural Institute and at the Prince Charles Cinema in 2010. Presentation at the Cineporto in Bari of the video clip “Ta d'adattà” produced by “Apulia Film Commission”. Live and interview on Rai Radio 2 of “Ottovolante”. Live in “Bari in Jazz” VII° Edition 2011 – Miles Lives in 2011, Live Winter Tour 2012 – Guest in the show “Beato a chi ti Puglia” by Rai presenter Savino Zaba, Pugliesi in the world “Cultural Olympics London 2012″, “Rosamarina Award 2012 Apulian Excellences″. The CROCEVIA concert-show aims to offer the public a 'crossroads' of emotions, expressed through the body, voices, and musical repertoire of the Bari-born artist.
Singer-songwriter Dario Sképisi's concert will combine lyrics by Elvira Spartano, performed by the actors of the Grocà Company, and choreography by Antonella Sacchetti, created by the ADS Danza e Spettacolo dance troupe. This original show, set against the stunning backdrop of the Castellana Caves, will offer spectators an evening of classic music and captivating emotion!
