On Wednesday, July 26, Largo Porta Grande will host “Crooning Soon,” a new major event for Piazze d'Estate 2023.
Following the success of Umberto Tozzi's concert last July 2nd, which attracted 13 visitors over the weekend, the second national and international music event in Castellana Grotte. The calendar of events “Piazze d'Estate 2023”, organized and promoted by the Municipality of Castellana Grotte and Grotte di Castellana srl, in fact, for next Wednesday 26 July 2023, will bring to Largo Porta Grande the music of Mario Biondi and its soul jazz soul. "Crooning Soon – The Summer 2023 Preview” is the tour produced and organized by Friends&Partners/Baobab Music and Ethics, in which the artist will perform his best-known songs and introduce his next album to the public, exclusively revealing some of the songs included in the album.
The concert will transform the square into an intimate setting thanks to the style that has always distinguished one of Italy's most popular singers.
Biondi's project focuses on the Crooning repertoire and style and will offer the public songs such as “My Favorite Things”, a special dedication for his nine children, taken from the musical “The Sound of Music” – known in Italy as “All Together with Music” – a jazz standard made famous primarily by saxophonist John Coltrane's version, which became his signature tune in the early 1960s. But the reinterpretation of Julie Andrews's famous song, featuring renowned Italian jazz musician Stefano Di Battista, is just one of the songs Mario Biondi will perform on stage during the tour.
The 1000 seats have been sold out for weeks.
The concert will be open to all with free admission.
