Hell in the Castellana Caves closes the holiday season's events program.
Double date with Hell in the Cave in this first week of the new year. The show set in the Caverna della Grave delle Castellana Caves (Ba) will open the gates of Hell set at 70 meters deep tomorrow, Thursday January 6 2022 (box office 5.45pm – curtain at 6.30pm), for a special show which will see the extraordinary participation of Vito Signorile, and then again Saturday January 8 (box office 20:15 PM – curtain at 21:00 PM) for the last performance included in the program of events for the holiday season.
It will close as it opened, therefore, Winter Drops, a calendar of events for the Christmas period in the Castellana Caves: with two Hell in the Cave events. The first of which, on the occasion of the Epiphany, with Vito Signorile, actor and director, researcher of traditional folk songs and tales, who will participate in the show by reciting a version of the Divine Comedy in the Bari dialect. On the same occasion, from 18:00 PM, it will be possible to attend the last screening of Cave Mapping, a spectacular open-air multimedia show on the elevator tower which becomes the canvas on which surprising 3D visual effects are painted.
On Saturday, January 8th, a repeat performance of the underground aerial show is scheduled, a free performance of the first canticle of the Divine Comedy set in the caves. A show that combines dance, voices, sounds, and lights, and capable of embracing the entire natural environment of the largest cavern in the Castellana Caves as a stage space, Hell in the Cave was born from a fascination and a great love for the language and the work of Dante, and is directed by Enrico Romita and the dramaturgy of Giusy FrallonardoOn stage, for each performance, actors, performers, and dancers offer the audience a thrilling performance, while the evocative power of Dante's verses blends with a unique natural setting. The chosen cantos are among the most famous, featuring characters such as Lucifer, Minos, Pier delle Vigne, Ciacco, Paolo and Francesca, Count Ugolino, Brunetto Latini, Ulysses, and Beatrice.
