After all the August dates have been sold out, the schedule of performances for the month of September has also been defined. Castellana Caves (Ba) of Hell in the CaveAn underground aerial show, a free performance of the first canticle of the Divine Comedy at a depth of 70 meters. Five events are scheduled: 4, 5, 11, 18 and 25 September (box office 20:15 pm, curtain at 21:00 pm).
On the first weekend of September, the gates of Hell in the Grave cave will open twice in a row, on Saturday the 4th and Sunday the 5th. Then, throughout the month, every Saturday, spectators will be welcomed to enjoy a unique and unforgettable experience. This year, 2021, designated by the Ministry of Culture as the year of Dante Alighieri, marks the seven hundredth anniversary of his death. Directed by Enrico Romita and the dramaturgy of Giusy FrallonardoHell in the Cave is a sensory show born from a fascination and a great love for Dante's language and work. A show that combines dance, voices, sounds, and lights, embracing the entire natural environment of the largest cavern in the Castellana Caves as a stage.
On stage, for each performance, actors, performers, and dancers offer the audience a moving performance, while the evocative power of Dante's verses blends with a unique natural setting. The chosen cantos are among the most famous, featuring characters such as Lucifer, Minos, Pier delle Vigne, Ciacco, Paolo and Francesca, Count Ugolino, Brunetto Latini, Ulysses, and Beatrice.
