The summer calendar of special visits has been defined Speleonight Castellana Caves (BA), an unmissable event for the karst site, one of the main tourist attractions of Puglia, which until the end of August will welcome visitors with traditional guided tours but also with exclusive activities organised by the speleologists of the Puglia Caves Group.
The next appointment with Speleonight, A sensory experience underground that reveals a different side of the caves, an exclusive tour to be done partially in the dark and with only the lights on the helmets, is scheduled for Tuesday, June 29th (meeting at 6:30 pm and departure at 18:00 pm). It will then continue with seven dates in July (2, 8, 9, 16, 23, 29 and 30), meeting at 19:30 pm and departure at 18:00 pm, and four in the month of August (19, 13, 20 and 27), meeting at 20:30 pm and departure at 21:00 pm. The visit on Thursday, July 29th is unique and will be conducted in both English and French.
Speleonight tours allow you to explore an alternative route through the Castellana Caves. The outward journey takes place in the dark, with only the lights on your helmets, in an intense silence where the patter of the water drops is amplified and the concretions are revealed in unique detail. Two highlights: the desert corridor, traversed alone, a unique experience in the underground world, and the turning on of the lights in the White Cave, marking the illuminated return journey.

Available on the website www.grottedicastellana.it, instead, the schedule of daily visits to the caves (complete itinerary up to the White Grotto, 3 kilometers long and lasting approximately 100 minutes, partial itinerary, 1 kilometer long and lasting approximately 50 minutes), tickets for which can be purchased on the TicketOne circuit.
All activities at the Castellana Caves are conducted in compliance with the anti-contagion safety protocol. Further information is also available on the official social media channels. Throughout the summer, tourists will be able to reach the Castellana karst site by bus. Caves link, 16 connections per day between Bari Central station and the Castellana Caves operated by Ferrovie del Sud Est, departing from Largo Sorrentino and arriving at the entrance car park to the tourist site.
