CASTELLANA CAVES: A BOOM OF VISITORS FOR EASTER AND EASTER MONDAY
5579 tourists in two days, an increase compared to last year
Castellana Grotte, April 18, 2017 – The Castellana Caves are a favorite destination for Easter tourism. Easter weekend sets a new record for the karst site, the "Wonder of Puglia." Between Easter and Easter Monday, the Castellana Caves attracted 5579 visitors, a total of 532 more than in 2016. Easter Sunday was a real boom, with 2118 visitors in total, 833 more than last year.
As usual, the visitors who chose the Castellana Caves to spend the Easter holidays were mostly Italian, many from the surrounding area and Puglia more generally, but also numerous tourists from all over Italy. There were also groups of foreigners who are increasingly interested in the Castellana Caves as a tourist destination.
