A weekend dedicated to exploring the Castellana Caves (BA) with special visits Speleonight e Speleofamily. Saturday October 31 e Sunday, November 1st The karst site, one of the main tourist attractions in Puglia, will welcome visitors with traditional guided tours but also with exclusive activities organised by the speleologists of the Puglia Caves Group, always in compliance with all the provisions of the anti-contagion safety protocol.
The appointment with Speleonight, A sensory experience underground that reveals a different side of the karst site, an exclusive visit to be undertaken partially in the dark and with only the lights on the helmets, is scheduled for Saturday, October 31st (meeting at 19:30 pm, departure at 20:00 pm). Speleofamily, dedicated to families with children aged 5 and up, offers an alternative route to the traditional tourist route and is a multi-sensory exploration using only the light from your helmet. This special tour, designed for even the youngest visitors, is scheduled for Saturday, October 31st at 6:30 PM (meeting at 6:00 PM), Sunday, November 1st at 10:30 AM (meeting at 10:00 AM), and 3:30 PM (meeting at 3:00 PM). Guided tours of the caves will continue throughout the weekend at the following times: full tour (an itinerary of approximately 3 kilometers leading to the White Cave, lasting 100 minutes) in Italian at 10:00 am, 11:00 am, 12:00 pm, 2:00 pm, 14:00 pm, and 16:00 pm (also at 18:00 pm on Saturday, October 31); full tour in English at 10:00 am, 12:00 pm, 14:00 pm, and 16:00 pm; and partial tour (an itinerary of approximately 1 kilometer, lasting 50 minutes) in Italian at 11:30 am, 13:00 pm, 14:30 pm, and 17:00 pm. While starting from Monday 15nd and until Sunday 15th November the visiting hours will continue according to the following schedule: complete visit in Italian at 10:00 and 12:00, with the possibility for groups of at least 20 people to book unscheduled tours in Italian, English, German and French by contacting the secretariat (segreteria@grottedicastellana.it – 080.4998211). Tickets for guided tours can be purchased directly at the Castellana Caves ticket office before the tour begins. During the visit, you can also use the app “Castellana Caves – Guide in Italian, English, and LIS”, a guide containing audio in Italian, English and videos in LIS and which can be used offline on your mobile device by following the instructions installed along the route.
Following the Prime Ministerial Decree of 24 October 2020 containing measures to deal with the Covid-19 epidemiological emergency, the repeat performance of the show scheduled for Saturday 31 October has been cancelled. Hell in the Cave.
