A TOURIST INFORMATION POINT OPENS AT THE CASTELLANA CAVES
An information center for tourists has been inaugurated in the Grotte Park.
Castellana Grotte, July 18, 2017 – The Castellana Caves have opened a Tourist Information Center that will remain open throughout the high season. This space, set up by the Castellana Caves company, will help passing tourists and visitors navigate the many offerings of the Caves park, inquire about opening hours, prices, and planned itineraries, and receive suggestions and advice based on their needs and preferences. All this is accompanied by a welcome from competent, multilingual staff.
A permanent information point also serves as a valuable communication channel for the numerous artistic and cultural events that the Castellana Caves organize throughout the year, including regular events such as the "Hell in the Cave" show and "Speleonight," special nighttime visits that allow visitors to experience the caves from a sensory and emotional perspective like true explorers. The information point also provides information on the Franco Anelli Speleological Museum and the Sirio Astronomical Observatory.
The decision to open the Tourist Information point in the heart of the Grotte park was also justified by the desire to avoid tourists having to queue at the ticket office to ask for simple information, thus also making the work of the ticket office easier and quicker, especially during the high season when there is a very high tourist flow.
At the Caves' information point, tourists will also be able to rent free bicycles recently provided by the Metropolitan City, as the Castellana Caves are Puglia's top tourist attraction. This will allow tourists to reach the center of Castellana Grotte in an eco-friendly way, discovering the beauty of the ancient village, its churches and evocative architectural features.
