The staging of continues successfully Hell in the Cave, underground aerial show, free performance of the first canticle of the Divine Comedy at 70 meters depth. With all dates scheduled for September sold out, the Castellana Caves srl, the company that manages the karst site, one of the main tourist attractions in Puglia, has announced five new performances of Dante's Inferno in October.
The gates of Hell in the Grave cave will open to the public Saturday 2nd, Sunday 10th, Saturday 16th, Saturday 23rd and Sunday 31st October on the occasion of Halloween (box office at 20:15 pm, curtain at 21:00 pm).
A performance that combines dance, voices, sounds and lights, and capable of embracing the entire natural environment of the largest cave of the Castellana Caves as a stage space, Hell in the Cave is a sensorial show, born from a suggestion and a great love for the language and the work of Dante, directed by Enrico Romita and the dramaturgy of Giusy Frallonardo. It's also an opportunity to admire the first cave on the Castellana karst site's tourist route in a different light.
On stage, for each performance, actors, performers, and dancers offer the audience a moving performance, while the evocative power of Dante's verses blends with a unique natural setting. The chosen cantos are among the most famous, featuring characters such as Lucifer, Minos, Pier delle Vigne, Ciacco, Paolo and Francesca, Count Ugolino, Brunetto Latini, Ulysses, and Beatrice.
