The Castellana Caves were a stop on one of the "Walkways" organized by the Italian-speaking Radio and Television Community, as part of the Prix Italia underway in Bari, with the support of Pugliapromozione, which is sponsoring the initiative.
Four journalists from Italian-language radio stations associated with the Community stopped at the Castellana Caves on Wednesday, October 5th, to explore the karst site and gather interviews that will form a new radio series that will be made available to all participating stations.
Accompanied by Maria Filomeno of Pugliapromozione, journalists Cesare Deserto of Radio ICN NY, Genti Mumajesi of RTSH Albania, Michele Valente of San Marino RTV, and Barbara Urizzi of Radio Capodistria were amazed by the beauty of Castellana's underground world during a guided tour that took them to the White Grotto. They then delved into the Castellana Caves' cultural and tourist offerings through interviews. Welcoming them at the end of the tour were Francesco Manghisi, president of the Castellana Caves Board of Directors; Margherita Costante, vice president; Fabio Caputo, councilor of the Municipality of Castellana Grotte; Dr. Giulia Monaco, executive officer of Grotte di Castellana srl; and Enrico Romita, director of the show "Hell in the Cave."
