The 2023 season at the Castellana Caves comes to a close in a remarkable way, with singer-songwriter music, charity events, and traditional performances. All of this is part of "Winter Squares”, the calendar of events promoted from December to January by Municipality of Castellana Grotte and Grotte di Castellana Srl.
Presented this morning, “Christmas in the Caves” From December 3rd to January 7th, 2024, the Caverna della Grave will host unmissable events and exceptional concerts. These events are highly anticipated, not least because of the atmosphere created by the breathtaking setting of the karst cave, which further enhances an already highly sought-after calendar.
THE SCHEDULED CONCERTS:
Four concerts will be held from December 14th to 23rd, essentially a "show within a show." Artists such as Franco Battiato, Claudio Baglioni, Tosca, Eugenio Finardi, Giuliano Sangiorgi, Chiara Civello, and Vinicio Capossela have already performed in the Caves. This year, the Caves have once again decided to host four concerts featuring some of the most prestigious names on the national and international music scene.
The events at the Caves will be opened by, for the only date in Puglia, the histrionic Massimo Ranieri, Thursday 14 DecemberA concert that will serve to lead the audience on an adventure that will unfold between theatre and his greatest successes.
Saturday December 16 space for a concert that will bring relief to thalassemia patients. In fact, the program includes "Rocking with San Rocco. Carmen Consoli, winner of the 2023 Tenco Prize, will perform Friday December 22 A trio with Massimo Roccaforte on guitar and Adriano Murania on violin. An intimate live performance that will confirm the intensity of the writing of one of the most beloved songwriters of all time.
Finally, Saturday December 23, the most famous a cappella musical group on the Italian scene: the Black for Case, in “Christmas by Chance”Not just a Christmas concert, but a journey through international music related to the holidays and beyond.

The program also includes evenings of “Hell in the Cave”, the show that has been bringing Dante's Inferno to the Castellana Caves for 12 years. The first date is December 3rd, but the others will be announced soon. The afternoons will be those of “Peter Pan”, the new AlephTheatre production created with and for children.

“Christmas in the Caves” will close Living Nativity Scene scheduled for December 30th and then again on January 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th 2024.
The 12 January, as per tradition – the leaders of the Caves anticipate – the citizens of Castellana will be able to enter the Caves for free.
